HAVE BACKUPS, INSTALLED 15.1 FROM SCRATCH, NO KWALLET, HOW TO 'RESTORE' THUNDERBIRD DATA?

My upgrade from 15.0 to 15.1 crashed (long story, short version: remove USB backup disk before upgrade!), so I did not do an upgrade, but a complete backup of my ‘home’ directory (in 3X) before doing an install. My question is: How to restore all mail data in ‘Thunderbird 15.0’ into ‘Thunderbird 15.1’? Additional info: I have disabled ‘KWallet’ in 15.1 as well as in 15.0.

Best regards,
Jan Christian

I assume that when you restore all of your backup of /home/<user>, it should be there.

MISPLACED THREAD: MISPLACED AS ‘TUMBLEWEED’ ISSUE, DOING A REPOST

And when you do a repost, then please refrain from using all caps. That is seen as shouting and most people do not like it when you shout at them.

Absolutely no need. Moderators can change the tag. Like I did.

Your Thunderbird emails are in .thunderbird/<unique_sequence>.default. If you have done a fresh install, Thunderbird may have given you a new <unique_sequence>.default into which you may have to copy the contents of the old <unique_sequence>.default in your backup.

I’ve seen this happen in the past, one can also adjust this in ~/.thunderbird/profiles.ini

Sorry for using all caps. More intelligent: I should have simply said (in lowercase!) don’t reply, the mail is ill conceived. The idea was to shout at myself, not at others. Sorry!
