Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1250 install issues

I just installed Suse 11.1 and I noticed that my Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1250 was not installed when I loaded the os. I am attempting to setup a home DVR/File and Print Server.

I’m still new to Linux and how it works with hardware so please let me know if there is any other info needed.

Yeah, I’m having this problem too. I had it working before but now after a reinstall I can’t get it to work. Did you fix this?

I am having some minor issues with a card that say’s WinTV-VR-1250.

I installed Mercurial. Then downloaded the latest v4l-DVB and DVB-apps from linuxtv.org and tried to follow the wiki:

Compiled some new modules and believe they are loaded correctly.
Funny thing is the box says its a 1250 but it really is a 1270. I am able to watch free ATSC TV only.

>:(I am having trouble with generating a good channel.conf file for the local free ATSC channels that the cable company is suppose to broadcast. The scan program gernerates channels for the incripted channels only. Kaffeine gets a signal when its scans are complete.
Windoze midi centre is zaping these mandatory channels up some how.
Anybody know how to tune these or extract the data from windoze?

isure wish I could get mine working, it is a hvr-1500, cx23885, nad I have no luck getting anything though it is seen as hardware. If anyone has got it working please tell me, thanks (1 year in the search)
