hardware compatibility

Suse-10.3 which uses kernel-default runs smoothly on my Dell Inspiron 1150 laptop with Intel Celeron chip.
I tried Suse-11.0 which uses kernel-pae Suse-11.2 presumably
using kernel-pae are NOT running smoothly. The HCL speaks of
Intel-Pentium chip.
Can I change the kernels of Suse-11x to kernel-default and how?

Start the software installer, select kernel-default for install. Doing so will add an option to the bootmenu, select it to start the new kernel. That’s all.
