I used zypper to update from 12.1 to 12.2, upon rebooting my system hangs at the fancy new splash screen. I checked the last line of code that was run using esc: “Started LSB: starts and stops ‘laptop mode’” I am using a 64 bit version, by the way.

I opted to reinstall everything from scratch. The tricky thing was the graphics looked like colored static when I booted the first few times, thus I was not able to see to do anything. I rebooted a few times and got lucky to have everything looking normal. I immediately installed the Nvidia drivers which fixed the problem. I think there was a conflict with the nouveau driver and the previously installed Nvidia driver. Everything is working great now save for the bluetooth pairing issue I have had with my Apple keyboard and Magic Trackpad. I will have to look into the other threads for that.
It happened again, but this time I discovered the problem. Updating sometimes breaks the Nvidia driver, preventing the X Window System from starting-resulting in a freeze at startup. I reinstalled the Nvidia driver in recovery mode, which fixed my problem.
You asked about my graphics card, it is an Nvidia GeForce 9400m card.
