Hi, i am trying to look up a repo that refers to handbrake so i can install it via zypper.
So far none of the links to packman work for me, because i always get an error saying that handbrake is not known.

Either i do something wrong or i can’t do it. What my error?
Yes, i can install it via Yast, but my goal was to load it via zypper since i am trying to do a script.

What are you trying to install ?
“Handbrake” does not exist. It’s either handbrake-gtk or handbrake-cli:
sudo zypper in handbrake-gtk

This is the repo for all Packman stuff: Index of /pub/linux/misc/packman/suse/openSUSE_11.3
If you only want the multimedia applications available then use: Index of /pub/linux/misc/packman/suse/openSUSE_11.3/Multimedia
Yes, this seems to be the one i was looking for.
Just in general, how can i find repos for a particular software. Since i rarely look for, i tried first with the download section and wasn’t successful with it.
Within Yast handbrake was there, but that did not tell me a repo.
Like i said, my goal was to be able to install it just via zypper. But i think that helped me already, at least for the repo.
Ideally, all you should have in repos are the ones there by default: Oss, Non-Oss, Update - Then just Packman and libdvdcss, unless you have ATI or Nvidia requirements
That should be all you need.
BUT. You can search for software here: software.opensuse.org: Search Results
However, I would caution you on using it and suggest you ask here in the forum first.
Yast >Software Management is probably the easier way to install stuff if you are looking for something.
zypper requires you know exactly what you are after.
When you find a package, go to the versions TAB and it tells you where the package is available from

It is present in Yast, but i guess i ignored the possibility that it will tell me the repo. Now i know.
As far as community i agree. Somewhere i read from oldcpu to use this repo for Skype. Index of /repositories/home:/broumbroum23/openSUSE_11.3_NonFree_standard which makes Skype work. Any other repo did not work out since it refused to display any video.
So yes, the community is key.
