Guess what??? WiFi issue with 64 bit suse 11.0 and broadcom.

Alreet chaps…

Just moved over to suse 11.0 after accidentally destroying windows with what seemed to be a trojan bomb…

Seems ok so far but trying to get WiFi working as the router is in a different room and i can’t be bothered to drag the machine across the flat…

I thought i was getting pretty good with linux as I used Ubuntu for a while but everything seems to be different… unless i’ve managed to forget everything from about 6 weeks ago… which tbh is probably true…

I tried to follow the WiFi guide on here but it didn’t work… tried just ndiswrapper-ing the drivers in hope it would work… seems to recognise the card and run some form of broadcom driver… it’s the F5D7001uk G+ card… unfortunately not at my comp so can’t get the actual name it comes up with but it wasn’t the standard one that was in the walkthrough thing…

any help cause it’s really bugging me that whenever i change any settings through yast it screams at me about no repositories… well… no media but that’s what it means…

sorry for the ramble…

Hmm,the stickies in the wireless section are quite good ( where this post should have been made, to get noticed earlier  ) there’s quite a lot of info we need to help resolve this. Have a read of the stickies for the info we need ( No need to re-invent the wheel  )
