KDE4 on 11.2 wants to impose its colors on GTK applications, despite disabling colors to non-KDE4 applications. The setting got saved as expected in ~/.kde4/share/config/kcmdisplayrc, which looks like that:
[X11]
exportKDEColor=false
However, KDE ignores it. It uses my GTK theme but not (all) the colors. As a consequence, some menus or field contents may become unreadable (like black text on dark background). Any idea what explains or justifies this behaviour? I have been setting up KDE 4.3 on Ubuntu and Fedora, KDE 4.2 (as far as I remember) on FreeBSD and DragonFly, I still have KDE 4.1 on openSUSE 11.1 playing well with GTK themes, I never encountered this problem. So, either I’m tired and miss something (which happends to me at least once a day), or it’s a bug in KDE 4.3 (but I haven’t seen it under Ubuntu and Fedora) or … that’s what I’m afraid of … the openSUSE KDE team thought it would be a good idea to make GTK apps unusable or ugly in KDE. I hope somebody tells me I’m wrong and gives me a solution. I have been trying a couple tricks to bypass KDE Gtk system default. It wasn’t neither funny nor efficient.
