Hello out there: I have been using openSUSE for a long time - and for the first time ever I messed up -here I attempted to update my 64 bit PC - the PC has 2 hard drives /dev/sda ( for windows 7 - 1000 megs ) and /dev/sdb ( for openSUSE 13.2 - 500 megs )
for linux I have the drive paririioned like so - /dev/sdb1 - 20 megs - swap partition - I am using the file system = EXT4 ( I tried file system = btrfs as well) I get exacctly the same error mesage for both
-/dev/sdb2 - 60 megs - for /
-/dev/sdb3 - 400 megs for /home
I have installed different versions of openSUSE - starting around version 8 or so - this is for a 64 bit pc and a 32 bit PC as well - I have not changed anything configuarion wise ( I hope ) so I was surprised that this time I did not get it right
I used BitTorrent to download - that works just great - I used “k3b” to build my .iso boot DVD - here is the message I get
******************************
“GRUB loading.”
“Welcome to GRUB2”
'error: no such device: 62930398-8db4-48ie-aa21-941459ed9b1d."
“Entering Rescuemode…”
“grub rescue>”
And then the PC locks up - will not accept any commands - at least nothing that I try to input is accepted
Regards and thank you
any assistance will be appreciated
