tried the new grub2 today from Index of /factory-tested/repo/oss
and the message on boot :-

Welcome to GRUB!
error : symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found
Enter rescue mode ...
grub rescue>
suspect its due to the new files in /boot/grub2/i386-pc/
gone back to the version in Index of /update/openSUSE-current
