What is difference between GRUB, LILO?

Read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_GRUB (especially the part which starts
“unlike LILO…” and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LILO

Mr.Andreas Stieger,

It is possible to use as dual boot in this case.

I am using opensuse 11.1 now and if i would like to load VectorLinux 6.0 still uses the LILO bootloader.

Both LILO and GRUB are capable of booting several operating systems.

You only need one bootloader. The openSUSE grub can boot the VectorLinux
kernel without it’s LILO. Alternatively, if you don’t want to add such an
entry, you can have openSUSE’s grub in the MBR boot VectorLinux’s LILO in it’s
own partition using the chainloader command. You would see two boot screens in
that case: First the openSUSE GRUB, then the LILO.
