Just checking. If when I boot, at the boot splash screen I click Advanced Options, I’m presented with a list of kernels. The kernels list from top to bottom as latest to oldest (oldest at the bottom). Correct? (I can’t see the version numbers on the screen).
Yes, I find that a problem. But I can usually see enough of the kernel version to pick the correct one. I have to look before I select it, because the print gets larger when I select and then I cannot read the version. I usually take a first glance, and then go by counting.
However, there is an alternative. You can use Yast Boot Loader. Select the “Kernel Parameters” tab. Uncheck the box for “Use graphical console”. Do not make any other changes. Click “OK” to save the changes.
Your boot menu should then be in plain text (without the graphic theme). And that uses a smaller font so that you can see the full kernel version numbers. You can easily change it back if you decide you don’t like this.
