I am not actually new here but had to open a new account as I couldn’t find a way to change my email address on the old account. I needed to do this as I was compromised. SO old name was “penguinclaw” but I will not be posting again under that moniker. By the way anyone (admins?) know of a way to merge my accounts as I’ve obviously lost all my lizards 
At low left of every page here there is a “contact us” link. That is also for changing your e-mail address.
In the same range of links t here, you can find our terms and conditions; One paragraph says:
CHANGING EMAIL ADDRESS, PASSWORD, ETC.
For changing password, see above. For changing email address, use the CONTACT US link on the bottom of this or any page. For security reasons, the Login system doesn’t pass sensitive data back and forth to the Forum software. Passwords are not stored in the forum software so you don’t have to synchronize them.
There is more there that probably answers your other questions.
