I updated my opensuse from 42.1 to 42.2 following the guide from https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:System_upgrade but after a few days, my screen started to freeze, the mouse and changing to terminal 1 (ctrl + alt + f1) still working.
Output from command “egrep -i ‘error|fail’ ~/.xsession-errors”:
kdeinit5: Communication error with launcher. Exiting!
kdeinit5_wrapper: Warning: connect(/run/user/1001/kdeinit5__1) failed: : Connection refused
Qt: Session management error: networkIdsList argument is NULL
Qt: Session management error: IO error occured opening connection
For the session that freezes, post the contents of your Xorg log (located in either /var/log or ~/.local/share/xorg) to susepaste and then provide us a link to that.
Given the high number of similar recent posts in the last while, this is more then likely another case of problems between the interaction of Plasma and Intel or nvidia hardware drivers.
