Graphical Terminal

That graphical terminal… Gr! I lost it off of my computer, and I want it back! Anyone know what it’s called and how I can get it back on my 10.3?

Press Alt-F2 to bring up Run Command box. For Gnome DE, you can type ‘gnome-terminal’ or for KDE type ‘konsole’ to bring up a terminal window.

They should also be accessible from the desktop menu of either desktop. With KDE, you can find it under ‘Favourites’. Right-clicking on the menu icon gives you the option to add an icon to the desktop or panel if desired.

Noooo. I know how to run a terminal! Thanks though :stuck_out_tongue:

What I need, is the grahpic behind it when it boots. Like, once I see splashy (the OpenSUSE boot splash), it says “Press ESC for More Details”. Actually… come to think of it, I don’t even see my splashy… Hm… Anyways, what I want is once I hit ESC (well… before it went away), I would see the terminal boot process with a graphical splash behind it, as such.

THAT is what I want back!

Then I suggest you change the topic title to splash screen. It is not a graphical terminal.

Maybe post cat /boot/grub/menu.lst to see boot settings as well.
