GPU has no video output on boot or after suspending on kernel 7.0 (snapshot 20260428 or newer)

Hiya. I’m researching GPU initialisation issue occurring on Linux kernel 7.0.x that got introduced in 20260428 update. It is most likely to happen during boot, suspending or resuming from suspend and usually results in a black screen. I have confirmed it occurring on Nvidia GPUs. I’m looking for anyone running AMD or Intel GPUs that have similar issue after updating to 7.0 kernel.

If you’re affected, please provide output of inxi -GSaz and describe the issue you’re having in this thread.

Read the bug report etc. Can confirm Nvidia issue with Quadro RTX 4000 on 7.0.X kernel. Used snapper to revert. Latest drivers work fine on 6.19.12-1-default.

Second machine with AMD Radeon Pro W6400 and a laptop with i5-1145G7 boot normally.

Hiya. Any issues with suspend on your second machine? Does it wake up properly without any crashes or black screens?

Both the AMD machine and laptop run perfectly. Suspend is fine on both. Hibernated the laptop several times and it just works.
