Got Games!!!

hey guys, I was just wondering if you play any games SuSE.

I play LinCity and FreeCiv. what do you play? and is there any games you suggest?

Aslo, I always wondered if games should be a major thing in Linux distros especially SuSE.

I really want to hear your opinion.

Thanks,

RAF

I just discovered LinCity-ng a few weeks ago. I haven’t played it yet, but I’m hopeful it will be a nice ‘retro’ experience when I get the time.

Neverball (and its variation Neverputt) is a nice game you’ll find in the repos. If you have a laptop, I’d recommend using a mouse for it though.

Blinken is a game I enjoy. You can play it with friend and to see who has the better memory.

Thanks for the reply Seete,

I’ve been playing LinCity for a couple of days now, its really good game, if you like construction and managment. Reminds me of SimCity

I will make sure to try NeverBall.

Steam works under wine (or CrossOver or Cedega) for getting
HL and HL2.

You can google for World of Goo (recommended… buy it!). I think
you can also get that via Steam for real cheap… not sure if that
will get you the native Linux version though.

UT2004… sigh… this one is hard. The last published versions
of the came DO NOT work with Linux anymore. So… Half Price Books
and ebay are your friend. I like it when I can find the old blue
box with the DVD version (nice!). I do give these away from
time to time. I might even have an extra one right now. And, I
have the magic patches to enable shadows and some other features
that were not working (basically adds all of the add-on pack as
well). Some of this stuff is VERY hard to find now.

I also have the commercial version of Tux Racer (and the VERY
elusive patches for it)… if you’ve never seen it, I can safely
say you’ve never seen Tux Racer… it’s about a gazillion times
better than the free versions.
