Do we have a package for this application GOpenVPN?
I try to compile it from source and after spending some time I could not complete it due to many errors, I believe I had all dependencies.
I was wondering if there is an rpm for this application.

Is there a specific need for this as NetworkManager for GNOME supports OpenVPN ( NetworkManager-openvpn-gnome )?
For my use wicked works better than the new NM. I know the following belong to another topic but for my use, I like to have DHCP running and add a fix IP to the node. I could do it with the NM of 13.1 but not with the one from 13.2. For example if I run the 13.2 NM under DHCP and run ip addr you will see the assigned ip, now if you add an extra ip ( ip address add 192.168.0.64 dev eth0) for example then run ip addr you will see now the 2 ip’s associated with the same net card. This is temporary and i can not find a way to do it under the NM to make it permanent like under 13.1. Of course I can do it with the wicked, that is the reason I try to find a GUI for openvpn which now I have to do it with the CLI

Hi
So just to clarify, you could do what you want in the 13.1 NM (maybe
some details of where in NM), but not in NM with 13.2?
It might be something that was removed (a regression…)?

Malcolm,
Thxs. I was going to post 2 pictures of the NM from 13.1 to explain what I meant but… I am not allowed to post attachments ;-(
Basically in the NM 0.9.8.8-10.1 in OS 13.2 the IPv4 page
shows under Method: DHCP and then there is a drop down menu (basic setting - additional addresses…etc)
Under additional addresses you can add your fix IP.
Here is the result after doing it:
Where you can see both the
10.0.0.34 provided by dhcp
10.0.0.64 that is the fix IP I added.
The new NM does not allow (afaik) to have the dhcp and ip added addresses is basically dhcp or fix ip
Yes I can have the NW provide the address by the dhcp and then I can add the fix ip using ip command but is only temporary, after reboot you are back to the NM only. Having both done by the NM like under 13.1 is permanent.

These are the 2 images of the NetworkManger in openSuSE 13.1 (0.9.8.8-10.1-x86_64) that show how to add a second ip to the one provided by the DHCP

Hi
Ahhh this is KDE… my bad I thought you were using GNOME NM… (since you were looking at a GTK 2 app…)
Malcolm,
I just installed openSuSE13,.2 gnome in a VM session to look at the NetworkManager gnome applet. Basically is the same as the plasmoid in KDE with the same functionality and the same constrains. It does not allow me to add a fix Ip on the top of DHCP.
The good news is that the devs are trying to add openvpn functionality to wicked. I will keep trying to compile gopenvpn until the.
Thanks
