Google Chrome Linux beta won't even access web!

I got an email from google announcing that they have released a beta Linux version.

I tried it out, but it will not even browse the web!

I tried changing the proxy settings to none (I don’t use any proxy), but still nothing but this error:

Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): Unknown error.

I know I should probably talk to google, but was just wondering if I’d done something obvious.

Google Chrome

It worked just fine for me. Here is what Google has on it though. Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): Unknown error - Google Chrome Help

Nope, most of those are simple proxy/firewall problems. I have my firewall disabled and no proxy set. Also changed it to “direct connect to internet”.

Runnin it from a console shows no output whatsoever.

Oh well, time to uninstall it, it doesn’t work with RSS feed bookmarks anyway :frowning:

Zypper installed google chrome rpm for me

. . . BUT am faced with ERROR 102 : cannot connect to Internet

  • Is there any known work-around please ?

thanks

Google-Chrome still does NOT work for me . . . still getting ERROR 102 . . . Cannot connect to the Web

Any ideas please ??

Let see this is a beta. You have two choices.

  1. uninstall and wait until a stable release

  2. document the problems and report them to the developers.
