Google Chrome and Java

At least I think its java. I noticed this started after an update awhile back and waited for a new update to fix it; but it hasn’t. On some sites, a pop-up appears when I have to input a zip code. Entering numbers from my keyboard’s numpad do not show up on the screen. However, if I input those numbers from the top row of the keyboard, they do show up!

Even more catastrophic, I can’t play the HD version of the Chrome extension Angry Birds. Elements of the screen are missing and others pop in and out of view. The SD version plays perfectly.

I tried looking at Chrome’s java console but I see no errors and it’s way over my head anyway. Trying to play this in Chromium only crashes the page.

I don’t think it’s anything to do with Java. Only a handful of websites require Java plugin these days. You could run a browser without Java for months and not miss anything on the web.

Maybe you have a beta version of Chrome?

I’m running 13.0.781.x. I have been reading threads mentioning version 14 and even 15. Maybe and update will arrive, as I had hoped, that fixes this little annoyance.
