going between Gnome and KDE4

Hello,

I have been showing other folks here at work the great things about OpenSuSE Linux. SuSE defaults to the Gnome desktop but, of
course, you can have a choice, KDE4. After showing KDE4 I logged out and highlighted Gnome again at the bottom of the login page
put my login and password but the system keeps going back into KDE4 desktop.
Has anyone else had this happen and if so what did you do for it?

Had the same issue using gdm. When i selected kde4 for some reason it went gnome but when i select gnome it goes kde. And sometimes it has no such problems.
I replaced gdm with kdm and it has no issues for now.

Can someone pls tell me how to switch to gdm from kdm…???

You can set kdm from here:

YaST → System → /etc/sysconfig Editor

Navigate to Desktop → Display Manager. Change DISPLAYMANAGER value to ‘kdm’. Click on ‘Finish’ when done. Restart your X-server with CTRL+Backspace (twice?), and kdm window manager should start.
