GNOME3: Properties dialogue freezes Nautilus.

Hi.

Ever since I moved to GNOME3 and every time I mouse right click and select “Properties” in Nautilus, there is no response. In fact it only freezes the browser and I have to force to kill it.

Here is what I get when I run it from the gnome-terminal:

cacho@luisc-sm:~> nautilus
Initializing nautilus-open-terminal extension

(nautilus:1380): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: specified class size for type `TrackerTagsView' is smaller than the parent type's `GtkVBox' class size

(nautilus:1380): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed
Initializing nautilus-gdu extension
Terminado (killed)

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards

Luis

I’ve got exactly the same problem - well I did have before Nautilus started crashing on me. I’d like to know the solution to this as well for when I eventually get Nautilus up and running again.

Thats a bug already raised at Novell Bugzilla.

The only known workaround at the moment is to uninstall the package nautilus-extension-tracker-tags.

Thanks Herbwahn, that sorted it for me.

Which is not a very elegant way… however thanks for your suggestion… I think I can live with this the whole week.

I agree that it’s not elegant
But it seems to be the only way to solve this problem at the moment… Hopefully, the developers are willing to solve it.

I’ve had this for a while and finally managed to care enough to look for a solution. Removing the RPM does work, and TBH I don’t particularly care as I’ve never knowingly used tracker anyway and certainly don’t tag anything (that’d just make me waste even more of my time!)

Thanks.
