I’m not sure if it is a bug or perhaps just a setting. The switch use doesn’t do anything when clicked.
I’d like to make a new session or login while gnome session is still running. So I assume that’s the option to do so.
PS. Anyone know what the shortcut for lock screen is in gnome? I tried Ctrl+Alt+L and Super+L doesn’t do anything…Thank you.
I have similar problems in LEAP 42.1 under the KDE as well as the Gnome desktop. I have imported 4 old users from an openSUSE 13.1 installation. I frequently need 2 to 3 sessions with different users in parallel.
When I have logged in as user A and try to switch users, I am not offered the list of available users A to D (which were available on the original login screen after startup), only the active user A and the create new session option. But when I click the latter, nothing happens.
Once it worked somehow to open a second session as user B, but then I could not switch the session with the KDA menu. I could switch with STRG + ALT + F7, or F8, respectively.
In KDE you may find that Activities are better. but if you must use different credentials then try a different DM. Default Plasma5 uses SDDM. Try KDM or maybe a different SDDM theme.
