gnome-shell 3.6 often freezed in 12.3

The problem happened as below list:

  1. open a gnome-terminal.
  2. run ‘su -’ to change to root
  3. run gedit in gnome-terminal as root and enlarge gedit screen
  4. touch left top hot corner
At that time , gnome-shell freezed and can not run Alt F2. But mouse can move.

I try to cancel all extension in ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions and restore default themes, but the problem still exists.
When the problem happened , I use Alt Print K to kill X .
After I go back to GDM , I can not log into Gnome , it display “Oh. …”
But restarting machine can log into gnome .

What is the matter?
I use 12.3 amd64 arch.
Thanks

If you want to edit a file with gedit the procedure is

gnomesu gedit <path_to_file>

Yes.i can see this condition >:( whenever gedit is launched as “root” user. The desktop freezes after using hotspot:(

I try ’ gnomesu gedit ’ and enlarge gedit, then touch hotpot.
The gnome shell freezed , too.

I even can not run ‘sudo gedit’.
When I run it , it gives :

No protocol specified

** (gedit:1459): WARNING **: Could not open X display

This is the only real issue I’ve got with openSUSE Gnome edition. I thought this was because I’d updated to 3.8, but I was very glad to find the bug report and this thread.

Is there any news on a fix for it? There doesn’t seem to have been any activity on the bug report. Thanks all.
