I am having an issue that the pop-up for Network Manager hangs and will not go away covering part of my screen. This started after the system locked-up. If I try to edit the pop-up setting in gnome it the dialog box lockup and has to be forced shutdown.
I am runnning openSUSE 11.3.
I’m not sure what this “pop-up” is that you’re referring to. Is it the dialog box for adding/editing connections in NetworkManager?
It is the Pop-up Message saying “Connection Established” after I am login.
I am also talking about the “Pop-up Notification” located with the ‘Traditional Mane Menu’ -> System -> Look and Feel in GNOME. That is also locking up when I try to change a setting or preview.
I got the Network Manager to stop showing the Pop-up after logging out and in a few times. Now it is doing it again this morning.
You can disable the NetworkManager notifications by going in the Gnome Configuration Editor (gconf-editor) and ticking
Applications->nm-applet->disable-connected-notifications
Applications->nm-applet->disable-disconnected-notifications

Are you referring to the Control Center in Gnome? The yellow context messages?
I made that change. It is now working properly.
