gnome-photos error

Hi, I installed gnome photos to test and I found this error:

viniciusbr@linux-wu6s:~> gnome-photos

** (gnome-photos:31626): WARNING **: Unable to find GEGL operation gegl:raw-load: Check your GEGL install

** (gnome-photos:31626): CRITICAL **: photos_application_create_window: assertion 'photos_application_sanity_check_gegl (self)' failed

But the GEGL libraries are already installed.

Hi
Hmmm was this system an upgrade or fresh install? I just tried here and works fine, it installed (Note it’s gegl-0_2 and gegl-0_3 not gegl);

(1/7) Installing: dleyna-renderer-0.5.0-3.3.x86_64
(2/7) Installing: libavformat57-3.2-4.1.x86_64
(3/7) Installing: gegl-0_3-0.3.6-1.3.x86_64
(4/7) Installing: libgegl-0_3-0-0.3.6-1.3.x86_64
(5/7) Installing: gnome-photos-3.20.2-1.2.x86_64
(6/7) Installing: gegl-0_3-lang-0.3.6-1.3.noarch
(7/7) Installing: gnome-shell-search-provider-gnome-photos-3.20.2-1.2.x86_64

Force (zypper in -f …) the re-install of the above, else create a test user, login and see if that works without the error.

HI,

was an upgrade from 42.1…

all these dependencies are installed and I also re-install it again, but still with the same error

Please post:

zypper se -si gegl

Hi
So create a test user and login, does it duplicate? This is to see if
it’s system or user (old 42.1 config files) issue.

Your gegl-0_3 is not the same as malcolmlewis has postet…

Install the one from OSS Repo…

You are right. I have changed the vendor now. There is no more error message, but the gnome-photos still not working. None message appear.

Hi
There might be other system (Pacotes do sistema?) that have not
updated/switched as well…

HI
there is any way to do that automatically in all packages with zypper?

I always uninstall Gnome-photos, but I know it works with Tracker, so try checking out in tracker settings, if it’s ok, and maybe updating the database

Hi
Well you can search for them and decide from that point;

zypper pa -i |grep @System
zypper pa -i |grep "sistema"

Thank you. Now it’s working.

But the sad point is that gnome photos is so bad as the most of gnome applications… gthumb is better.

Many thanks!
