i am old and have wasted no days without nothing…my openSUSE sings
like a birdy and zooms like a rocket ship…

so??
me too, SUSE 9.2 (before that Red Hat, Mandrake, and others)

so?
me too…ran 10.1, 10.2 and 10.3 happy as a turkey breathing on
Thanksgiving Day…

there is no openSUSE 11.1/2, so mixing distros makes you frown–i am not
surprised…

so, there is no 12.1 yet, did you mean openSUSE 12.1 RC 1 or RC 2, or
perhaps a milestone release??

thousands had few if any problems after one click…exactly what
problem(s) did you have?

sorry, i do not understand what you are trying to tell us…

KDE does not need COMPIZ, it is built in and desktop effects is
automatically enabled if your hardware, graphics and video driver
supports it…
otherwise, you have to SOLVE all problems with your hardware and driver
and then enable desktop effects…

if you prefer the Windows or Mac log in screen then you should use them…
or, if you wish openSUSE had a log in screen like Windows or Mac you can
let your wish be know in the standard feature request, here:

during initial install you have the option to select the system and
keyboard language…did you do that? if not, you will have to boot
using the default install language and then use YaST to correct your
earlier mistake…

so, you have one computer running 11.3, another running 11.4 ??
nothing freezes for no reason (not even water)…the freeze after
restart is caused by one of four possible failures points:
-hardware
-software
-user error
-some combination of the above three

both work with (and without) the nvidia driver…so, you pick the one
you like the best…

wifi is prefectly integrated with kde, gnome, lxde, xfce and many
others–depending on your hardware and software…read the three stickys
at the top of the wireless forum for how-tos and directions for seeking
assistance in that forum…

hardware or setup problem…

good, use what works for you…that is what i do…i don’t use the
Windows which came on this machine…but, you know what: when i saw all
the problems it had i did NOT go to a Windows forum to complain about
all the problems it has…

no need to wait, you can free download and install now: www.suse.com
