Gnome Multimedia Codecs doesn't work for me

Hello,

I’ve just reinstalled the Opensuse 42.1 cause I upgraded hardware but I’m not able to make work the codecs now. I’m using Gnome and I’ve installed the plugins from this site: http://opensuse-community.org/. Now if i start Totem it still say “Some necessary plug-ins are missing. Make sure that the program is correctly installed.”

Here are my repos:

Does anyone have any idea how to proceed in such a case?

Thanks,
Mark

Check in Yast and see if all th gstreamer packages you have are 1) the same version number 2) all come from packman

I believe the ugly gstreamer is still broken maybe remove

Thanks for answer!

Well, I’ve uninstalled the ugly packages. And here are the versions:

I really cant tell which packages are compatible or not, so I made a screenshot for you:
http://postimg.org/image/84sv68zqz/ - sry for link on internet but i cant find another way to add the picture here. “Insert image” doesn’t work. -.-

And I’ve checked the repositories and everything is from Pacman except:
PackageKit-gstreamer-plugin
gstreamer-fluendo-mp3
gstreamer-libnice
gstreamer-plugin-gstclutter*
gstreamer-plugins-farstream
libgupnp*
phonon*

But there is no option to take it from Pacman.

Shouldn’t really be necessary, although they might just not work at the moment.

You cannot upload images here. You have to upload them to some other sharing site (like you did), then you can specify that URL to “Insert Image” and it will show up inline in your post.

But yes, this looks ok.

Try to remove the gstreamer cache, delete the folder ~/.cache/gstreamer-1.0/.

If that doesn’t help, make a full switch to Packman as decribed here:
https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Vendor_change_update#Full_repository_Vendor_change

Afterwards maybe delete the cache again.

It should work then.

Thanks a lot! I deleted the cache and it helped.

Can I anyhow mark this thread as solved?

Great!

Can I anyhow mark this thread as solved?

We don’t do that here.
Stating that it is solved should be enough.

If you want to you can add a “(solved)” or similar to the title when writing a reply though.
