gnome login problem

Hi,

I changed my desktop environment from xfce to gnome. It worked fine. Then I started to customize it. While I was configuring something called like orpa (screen magnifier kind of thing) it asked me to log off and log in again. After I logged off, I couldnt re log in. When I choose my name from log in screen it doesnt do anything and turns back to log in screen after a second.

Thanks in advance.

edit: I can access console

edit2: problem magically solved  I guess it was GTK bug

If you just started to customize Gnome (and have not much to loose), try to remove ~/.gconf. That’s were Gnome writes the user configuration in xml files. It might put some stuff in ~/.config too (like Xfce). It also saves somme apps settings in ~/.gnome2.

Thanks for reply, but I did things in console and it worked somehow. It logged in and offered me to save a bug report. I saved it just in case, but computer works fine now.

Thanks again.

It looks like I am getting a constant error now :S

it says :

GTK GUI wanted but not found, falling back to Qt.
Gtk-Message: (for origin information, set GTK_DEBUG): failed to retrieve property `GtkTreeView::odd-row-color' of type `GdkColor' from rc file value "((GString*) 0x89cf100)" of type `GString'
