Hello,
as the title suggests, the gnome keyring isn’t unlocking at login. I use GDM but used sddm before that. Neither had a problem. I’m confused about what to do as something seems changed and seahorse shows no keys under login. It’s irritating having to enter the password in Gnome a second time. Or in plasma if i open a gtk app.
Appreciate any help.
Hi
Is python3-keyring installed?
I’ve no idea what that is, but I’ll look… No, it is not installed.
Hi
Install that and see if it helps…
Make sure that you use:
zypper dup
to update your system. Other methods of updating can lead to inconsistencies.
I’ve always done that… I’ll try what the previous person suggested
So, my problem apparently is solved by entering my user name and password into the seahorse login section which was unexpectedly blank.
The thing is, how did it get removed in the first place? this occurred after and update ( implemented with zypper dup, for the inquisitive). raar! zal ik maar zeggen.
Normally, seahorse gets that information via pam. But if you are using autologin, then pam is not used so it cannot get the information that way.
I’ve never used autologin
Strangely once again, after the last update the problem was solved and I could remove the one I created in seahorse. Works now perfectly across all accounts. Thank you.
I’m glad things are now working properly. And thanks for reporting back.
