GNOME in 11.3 crashes

Hello everyone,

I’m – currently – using an i386 Pentium III (Coppermine) Compaq. GNOME crashes once I login. I would prefer to use GNOME; any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Be a bit more precise please. In what way does it crash?
Anything interesting in /var/log/messages?

This is old
How much RAM

It crashes as in the pointer won’t move and the clock stops working.
As far as /var/log/messages are concerned, I’m afraid that my CLI skillset is nonexistant.

The RAM is 384 MB.

Right on the limit

Install LXDE from Yast Patterns

And remove beagle indexing

I see; thank you for your replies!
