What’s up with compiz in Gnome 3.2.1? It’s listed in the repository under Gnome so I installed it. Then switched the default window manager in /etc/sysconfig/windowmanager and no joy. Nothing happens after reboot and logging back in. I’m pretty sure I’m doing something wrong…
Hi
Compiz isn’t used anymore with Gnome 3. Which default wm did you switch
too?

Hi Malcolm
I cleared “gnome” as the default and typed in compiz.
Hi
Not sure if the openSUSE compiz is built as a standalone wm, that
would be compiz-fusion?
A google on “compiz as a stand alone window manager” might give you
some additional info on getting it to run.

Hmm…yeah. Lots of research there. It’s more of a curiosity than anything else. I’m very happy with Gnome 3.2.1 for now. I do have one minor issue which I’ll provide for in another thread. Thanks Malcolm.
