Gnome and startup app

Using 2 monitors. Is there a way to make an application startup on a specific monitor and/or workspace? I have FireFox and Thunderbird included in startup programs and they both open in workspace 1 on my “right” monitor.

Not a big deal but it would be nice to have each start on different monitor or workspace.

Hi
Install devilspie and you may also be interesting in this as well.

thanks for the quick start.

I installed and set up my apps to go to a workspace. Now I just need to tweak a little. Where can I get a better understanding of the “Actions?”

Also I set gDevilspie to the Startup Programs: is there a way to have it “start” automatically?

Hi
Have a look here;

Once you have a configuration file, just starting devilspie on
login should be enough.
