Hello
I want to have the ability to play most multimedia formats (mp3, mp4, avi) in my openSUSE gnome 3 (I’d like to know both about Leap and Tumbleweed) and I know there is this link http://opensuse-guide.org/codecs.php but from what I read, this applies to KDE mostly (Amarok and Dragon player). I have gnome 3 and I would like to know the exact codecs I need for my DE (Totem and vlc) so that I won’t install anything I dont need. I’m keeping it minimal :shame:
Any insight?
**PS: what is “vendor change”? There was a pop up once when I tried to install some codecs through yast. What does it mean and what is the best way to deal with it? Also, will packman repos make my Leap more “unstable”? **:sarcastic:

Well, hard to say, pacman does have it’s hiccups and issues at
times… If you want a true worry free experience, can’t beat the
Fluendo codecs and libdvdcss2…
