Gnome 3.4 does not turn off screen completely in openSUSE 12.2 RC2

Hi,

I asked this question before but did not get any reply.

When Gnome turns the screen off (according to Brightness and Lock settings) after designated inactivity, the top bar (panel?) is still there with clock and user name, instead of monitor turning completely off. I am wondering if this is a design decision or a bug?

It would be great if anyone could confirm/not confirm this at least

Beta testers are in the prerelease/beta forum.

ThinkPad E320: oS 12.1 x86_64 | i3@2.30GHz | 8GB | KDE 4.8.5 | HD 3000
eCAFE 800: oS 12.1 i586 | AMD Geode LX 800@500MHz | 512MB | KDE 3.5.10

Thanks. The thing is though, I had this problem with Gnome 3.4 and 12.1. So I wonder if everybody has this problem or it is only me.

You should have said so in the first place, I checked on my wife’s
laptop now, she has 12.1 with Gnome 3.4 and I see the same effect there.

While you post this problem with clearly 12.1 in the title, it belongs to Pre-release/Beta. It will be moved there. Please everybody, wait until moved.

There is a bugzilla on that, reported for 12.1. You could find it and change the report to 12.2

(from 11.4 x86_64 “Celadon” (Minas Tirith))

Moved, open for bussiness again.

Thank you! I will make sure to post on the proper forum next time.
This has something to do with gnome-screensaver, and I am not sure this is openSUSE or upstream thing, and I am even not sure if this is a bug or intentional.

I searched for it but could not find it. Could you please give me the link?

My distro behaves normally.
