I like XFCE and am about to go back to it. But Gnome is new to me and I would really like
to learn it.
But I can’t take this any more. rotfl! It’s been hours of work and no progress on this simple task of
using the “tweak tool” in an effort to install a tar.gz file as a theme. I got this file from the
gnome-look website.
The home/myusername/.theme folder shows up in Dolphin, but not in “Files” or in the “tweak
tool” file path when I click the little folder icon in Appearance/themes. Why is this? I have
permissions, obviously.
Hi
I’m guessing that theme is too old (2013) for the 3.18 shell release…
have you looked at the available system gtk themes?
If you have a) installed the gnome user theme extension
(https://extensions.gnome.org) and b) extract the downloaded file and
then create a zip file from it it should open, but of course it says
invalid theme…
