Is there significant change ?
Does openSUSE offer an upgrade ?

GNOME 3.10.2
openSUSE 13.1 (Bottle) (x86_64) 64-bit
Kernel Linux 3.11.6-4-desktop

Why use GNOME when there is KDE? :wink:

@vazhavandan:

Well I dont think its official but there is a repo for it: http://software.opensuse.org/package/gnome-shell

Gnome 3.12 (I think 3.12.2) is in Tumbleweed and in Factory. I happen to have both of those installed (on different partitions).

Thus far, it looks similar to 3.10. But then I’m not a Gnome person, so I probably would not notice the differences.

The one thing I did notice: the drop down menu for the on/off button (top right), has a new line named “Location”. This is listed as enabled, and I have an option to change it to disabled. I have no idea what it is enabling or disabling.

I only had crash&burn, so the only thing i’ll be advising and gospeling from now on to other users will be: Use whatever version of software your openSUSE install came with. You’ll get newer stuff in the next release.

Heh welcome to the club, learned that lesson the hard way.
