gnome 3.10 critical features missing?

I just installed OpenSuse 13.1. Really nice overall, but I have some critical issues:

  1. where can I configure behavior on laptop lid close?
  2. where can I configure power button action?
  3. Really high CPU usage
  4. some mainstream multimedia codecs don’t work in Totem
  5. sound level randomly resets to 100%. (It’s quite a problem when your OS is prone to damaging your eardrums!)
  6. no screensaver?

Any solutions?

Of and I just found a new one:
banshee and rhythmbox systematically crash after playing one file.

Hi
You can configure this via Tweak Tool -> Power

  • where can I configure power button action?

If you hover the mouse over the power button and press the alt key, you
can suspend, else it’s cancel, restart or power off.

  • Really high CPU usage

Hmm, don’t see this here, what processes are running?

  • some mainstream multimedia codecs don’t work in Totem

Follow the multimedia guide to install the grstreamer codecs?

Haven’t seen that occur here, what applications are causing this.

  • no screensaver?

By design, it may come back one day. Some folks have reported
xscreensaver works?

Hi
What type of file? If you start either application from a terminal, any
useful hints in the terminal after the application crashes?

Possibly a little off topic, I’ve also had issues with Rhythmbox. I’ve opened a bug for this https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=857127
