I know about it, but I haven’t tried. Flash is an important part of web
pages nowdays, I can’t risk it not working.

Well, i remembering using something else under Ubuntu (long time ago)
and it had problems, but i am not sure anymore if that was Gnash. Could
have been something else.

Lightspark and gnash are the best alternatives. Most sites work, but there are still bugs. Youtube is constantly broken because they can’t keep up with the API/code changes. When Adobe holds all the secrets, I doubt the open source alternatives will ever be able to be on par. I hope as html5 becomes more prevalent, it will help with this pain in the neck.
