GLX is missing on display

I have recently installed openSUSE 11.0 and I updated my system with the install software tool to the latest versions of software. I then tried to configure Compiz Fusion with the simple manager. But every time I click to enable it, nothing happens. I then click enable and then the check mark and it disables Compiz. I type the command “compiz” in on the terminal and I get the error "Xlib :extension “GLX” is missing on display “:0.0”

What is wrong and how do I fix it?

I am running a Nvidia 8800gt

I tried to enable XGL but it gave this error

Warning! MD5DIR is not set: you probably called this script outside SuSEconfig…!
Using MD5DIR="/var/adm/SuSEconfig/md5"…
No changes for /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers
No changes for /etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config

what does it mean and how do i fix it, i am running GNOME by the way

have you installed Nvidia’s drivers ?
