Gimp size confusion

If I create a image in Gimp using the dimensions for paper size A6. I will be using it Landscape, but that’s not important. The dimensions are
148 x 105 mm

Now check your view is 100% and check the actual dimensions. It doesn’t seem to add up to me.

And if you create a New Image from Template > A6
Check the difference when viewed 100% size

Or am I just mixed up about something

You might have to set something up for DPI in your settings in GIMP. Edit-

I’ll check that Jim, thanks

It fine here. if opening a new template like what you said below

And if you create a New Image from Template > A6

It opens as portrait (104.99x148.51), just rotate it 90 degrees.

Edit

I checked both sizes that you mentioned at 100 percent and it seems to be right here by looking at the numeric on the side of the image

I figured my problem
It was all down to ppi

I learned quite some yesterday!
