Gimp, Kmail, and Bluray

I have everything working so good on OpenSUSE 13.1 64-bit. I just can’t wait for the nVidia driver. But there are two things that are baffling me. I cannot get GMIC working in Gimp at all. I’ve tried copy the executable to every directory I could think of. The other little glitch is Kmail. I can’t get background colors or tiles in it. I can do it in Thunderbird, but I want to keep the KDE integration. I would also dearly love to be able to play bluray movies. DVD works great, but I want it all. :wink:

Awesome distro though. Here’s my computer’s specs:

HP XW8600 Workstation
2 Quad-Core 3GHz Xeon CPU’s
32 GB RAM Memory
2GB nVidia GT520 Graphics Card
Acer B276HUL 2560 x 1440 27" LED Monitor
2 TB Seagate 7200 RPM 64MB Hard Drive
iHES112 SATA Bluray Optical Drive
Logitech K520 Wireless Keyboard
Logitech M310 Wireless Mouse
Logitech Z323 Speaker System with Subwoofer
Logitech F710 Gamepad
Logitech Z323 Speaker System
Microsoft VX5000 Webcam
HP Photosmart 6520 Inkjet Printer

Thanks,

Rudy

I’ve just managed to get Blu-ray working but it’s not perfect - a bit
jerky. You’ll need vlc from packman and probably vlc-codecs. Also you
may need to set up AACS configuration file as described in para 2 here:

Graham P Davis, Bracknell, Berks.
openSUSE 12.3 (64-bit); KDE 4.11.3; AMD Phenom II X2 550 Processor;
Kernel: 3.12.0; Video: nVidia GeForce 210 (using nouveau driver);
Sound: ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA); Wireless: BCM4306

From what I understand if the bluray is encrypted you are kinda out of luck as it is quite difficult right now to use them in Linux. Cloddy’s solution might work though so give it a try.
