Hi with Ghostscript 9.00-4.10.1 in 11.4 I find I have landscape stretched fonts which is especially difficult to handle in Firefox and Libre Office printing. The above bug and fix have been documented in Bugzilla since early February. My questions are:
- Does anyone know when the fix r12089 is likely to make it into 11.4’s Ghostscript please?
- Does anyone know of a better bypass than rebooting my back-up 11.2 partition?
I print on an Epson Stylus D88 plus printer via USB.
Thanks in advance for any information

Remember that there are no devs here.

If it is not a security fix, never. My guess.

You might ask in the factory mail list. Or in that bugzilla you mention.

Well some appear to read these threads and I think it helps to say there are problems. It is surprising how often someone knows a bypass.

Thanks I looked in the mailing lists and in the regression mail list I found that Suse do in fact know about the problem. I will probably write asking for a packaged ghostscript 9.01 or 9.02 both of which contain the fix.
The regression list did give a bypass “setting -dDisableFAPI=true at the command line” to disable the use of Freetype2. I have tried this, but not surprisingly as I know nothing about the gs command I haven’t got it to work.
Does anybody know how to set this properly please?

Installing V9.00-62.1 “fixes” the problem. It includes the option -dDisableFAPI=true in gsopts.
Now I have no problems printing in landscape mode. Thank-you to the Open Build packagers
