I’ve installed 11.3 KDE 64bit and it runs great.
I tried setting enable desktop effects and nvidia drivers have to be installed. I have Geforce 7100.
Seems like many are having trouble getting effects to work. should I install drivers from here:
1-click-collection - openSUSE Community Wiki

best? probably a matter of opinion…you can stick around and collect

actually, i preferred the “hard way” but it seems someone else
disliked that so much they deleted it…personally i really dislike
the 1-Click installs…

Right now 11.3 runs so well without desktop effects that I may just leave it like it is. 
Just adding the repo from the Community repo list in Yast worked for me as it has for the past number of years.
nVidia GeForce 9600M GT
Desktop Effects working fine on this system with the repo nVidia driver.
