getting around screwd boot

only way i can get into the system is if i run system repair, finish that then error messages says an error has occured during installation then i click install n boot from hard disk then everything boots up how do i fix it so i dont need to go and **** around with all that ???

You might have to reinstall
what happens when you try to boot?

when i turn the computer on im dropped straight into grub shell

i typed boot then it says error 8:kernel must be loaded before booting

What does the grub editer say? It looks like your boot loader failed but it might be fixed.
all the info you can give would be helpful

Ok I’m finally awake start your system the way you have to
go to yast > system > boot loader > click on other then start from scratch click on other again
then propose new configuration
also in a console ls /boot and make sure you have initrd-2.6.27.7-4-default or something similar the numbers might be different or you might have pae instead of default
if you do not then as root in console run mkinitrd

cross you fingers and reboot

@IDeVillish -

Why have you started a new thread for your problem??? Did you not see my last post or . . . what?

For anyone else wishing to help, that (long) thread is at reboot then no boot ? - openSUSE Forums.

is there anything i can change for the boot loader during installation

atm this is what i see

optional kernel command line parameter
Resume= /dev/sda1 splash=silent showopts change /dev/sda1 to (hd0,0)

Kernel image
/boot/vmlinuz edit this line hit place your curser right after vmlinuz hit tab and the editer will show possible completions type in the kernel

Initial RAM disk
/Boot/initrd again place the kernel right after initrd hit tab and type in the initrd that shows up
hit enter then hit b

Root Device
/dev/sda2
