get opensuse splash back after manual kernel compile

hi all,
i just compiled my own kernel on 11.1 for a number of reasons but i now want the splash that suse defaultly has i cant work out how…

please help

Wow - almost anything can happen of you compile your own kernel. Have you tried YaST - /etc/sysconfig editor? I’m sure I saw various splash screen options in there, though you might have changed something critical with a kernel recompile…

And where did you mention about boot in your thread???
You have to be more specific about your words in post.

Kernel load -> X-server -> X-server configuration (i.e., login splash screen)

I don’t think you can recompile your kernel, and get it to complete the boot process all the way to the X-server login splash screen, with out writing HUNDREDS of lines of code.

I don’t think OP has to be any more specific than he is…
