I just made a fresh install of Leap 16.0 with Gnome. During the installation I set the default keyboard to “be” but now, when gdm appears, it seems to use a us-keyboard. Under X11, it was quite simple to change this layout but how can this be done under Wayland?
The problem is indepenent from X11 or Wayland. The language selection in Gnome settings for the loginmanager gdm does not change anything. There is also a recent thread wirh the same issue. A bugreport for this was filed whilst Leap was alpha or beta ( no solution). And the issue is easily reproducible with the Leap 16 installation ISO
Thank you arvidjaar for the question. I went to have a look at localectl and I discovered that near “localectl set-x11-keymap” there also exists a “localectl set-keymap”-command and this last solved the problem.
