gdm crashes with NVidia proprietary driver

Hi,

I’m running gnome-shell 3.20.4 on openSUSE Tumbleweed x86_64 ( kernel 4.7.2 ) , NVidia proprietary drivers 367.35 and a GTX 750 Ti.

When selecting gdm as the display manager, gnome shell segfaults before even displaying the login screen. I get a frozen screen instead, but can switch back to the console.

I’m using xdm at the moment that that sadly means no screen saver and no locking functionality.

Any ideas on how to get this fixed would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Robert

By installing the 367.27 driver? See Bumblebee "optirun" with the default bridge fails with Nvidia driver 367.35 - Hardware - openSUSE Forums

I’ll give this a shot, thanks.

Rolling back did not work for me. Note that only gdm fails, Gnome 3 works fine.
