gconf-sanity-ch in defunct

When logging into the gui I see “Could not update ICEauthority file /home/clothier/.ICEauthority” [close] then, "There is a problem with the configuration server, (/usr/lib/Gconf/2/gconf-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256)

top shows gconf-sanity-ch in defunct.

Any help would be appreciated. I saw another post with the same error, but didn’t seem related. I just had a default install of 11.1 with gnome desktop. Nothing special.

I have similar problem.

at first startup i get “can’t write to /home/sas/.ICEauthority”

and then i get a error that tells me that there was a error in sanitycheck.

I have tried to, from console, create the .ICEauthority as it was not there, no change. :frowning:
