when i try to boot from the openSUSE kde-4 i386 liveCD, in text mode, as well as VESA and 1024x768 mode, I get a screen with narrow green vertical bars all over the screen, after the “Creating XConfig” message during booting.
I had this issue(exactly same garbled screen) in Slax too, but VESA mode always fixed it in Slax. Is there a way to disable gfx card configuration (xConfig)? Running xconfig was optional in Slax and I remember that running xconfig would always give me the same garbled screen.
I have 1GB of RAM, a nVidia 6600GT and a 2.4 ghz P4 processor (if at all that info might help)
