Ih have installed apcupsd on a TW KDE for years and I had until very recently gapcmon installed (a GUI tool for the APC tool to configure/monitor the USV), it’s still in my Autostart, but doesn’t come up on login and no trace to be found on the machine.
I had a look at software.opensuse.org, apparently no gapcmon for TW, and the alternative apcupsd-gui is also not available for TW?!? Is there any graphical backend for apc UPS’s on TW?
I never heard of those products, but when I go to YaST > Software > Software Management and search for apc, I get offered the packages apcusd (the one you apparently have installed) and just beneat it apcusd-cgi and apcusd-gui. Is the last one not to your liking or do I complete misunderstand what you are looking for? Or do you not have it in TW?
The description is
apcupsd-gui - APC UPS Monitor GUI (for APC UPSs)
Controls and monitors the status of an APC UPS under Linux. Allows your computer or server to run for a specified length of time on UPS power then executes a controlled shutdown in the case of an extended power failure. Find APC on the Internet at http://www.apc.com/.
APC also made their PowerChute plus available for download at http://www.apc.com/tools/download/.
Hi
It was dropped, see the apcupsd changelog (generally a good place to start )…
- Conditionally disable build for gcapmon for Tumbleweed and newer
via bcond. Gconf-2 is being removed from Tumbleweed, as it is
deprecated and archived upstream.
